Victory Farm Collective
What is a farm collective?
A farm collective brings local farms together in bringing their products to consumers, reducing overhead sales and delivery costs for the farms and providing consumers with greater access to local farm products. Victory Farm Collective will offer fresh fruits and vegetables.
Why did I start Victory Farm Collective?
My typical summer job was put on hold summer 2020 due to COVID-19, so I decided to start my own business...a farm collective, where I utilize fruits and vegetables grown on my family's farm and gather other fresh produce grown in the Finger Lakes region to put together boxes for customers each week.
We (my mom and I) considered a lot of different names, but decided on the name Victory Farm Collective as we thought about how people planted Victory Gardens during World War II to provide not just food, but hope. In the midst of the pandemic, Victory Farm Collective seemed an appropriate name as we planted our victory garden in the backyard.
2024 Collective Details
Unfortunately, we will not be back for the 2024 season. I will be staying in Colorado for the summer for an internship. I am so thankful for the last four summers of VFC. None of it would be possible with out you all and the farmers. I hope that one day Victory Farm Collective will make a return.
This summer I will be doing research and farm work at the CSU Rogers-Mesa Research, along side CSU Extension Entomology. I will get to work on several entomolgy and IPM (Intergrated Pest Managment) projects. Such as, collecting data from the pest traps on the apple trees at the research center, the primary pest being the Codling Moth. I will be spending my free time finding cool new trails to run on and enjoying all Colorado has to offer this summer. Especially the local Farmers' Markets and fresh Colorado produce. I will miss VFC dearly, but am grateful my learning opportunity here.
I hope you all have the chance to continue to support our local farmers in Wayne County and the surronding areas. Feel free to email or message me on social media, with any questions about where to find certain produce!
Much Love,
Trin
